UN Global Dialogue on AI Governance — stakeholder consultation
Together with fellow hub leaders, we represented the Young AI Leaders Community at the UN's second informal stakeholder consultation for the Global Dialogue on AI Governance, hosted by the Co-Chairs from the Permanent Missions of El Salvador and Estonia.
The ask
The Co-Chairs published a draft with four thematic clusters — AI opportunities across societal, cultural and economic dimensions; bridging AI divides through capacity-building and access; safe, secure and trustworthy AI; human rights, transparency, accountability and human oversight — and asked stakeholders for feedback.
What we said
AI governance cannot be siloed: progress in one cluster depends on progress in the others. The most affected need to be in the room as co-framers, not observers — the next generation inherits every decision. And one-off events do not govern AI: follow-up between annual meetings turns principles into practice. Our hubs already run local projects, dialogues and cross-border collaborations — a platform we offer.
